Canada CBIP Program

As a result of installing
the TCS system in the Janvier School and Community

Performance rating to date in Canada of 68.8%. To
their pleasant surprise, the Janvier Community was
awarded the maximum grant of $60,000.00 from the

Natural Resources
Canada's Commercial Building Incentive Program (CBIP)
offers a financial incentive for the incorporation
of energy efficiency features in new commercial/institutional
building designs. The objective of this new incentive
is to encourage energy-efficient design practices
and to bring about lasting changes in the Canadian
building design and construction industry. Energy-efficient
buildings yield long-term energy savings. Lower
operating costs increase the resale value of the
building and provide a competitive leasing advantage
over standard buildings. A financial incentive of
up to $60,000 will be awarded to building owners
whose designs meet CBIP requirements. An eligible
building design must demonstrate a reduction in
energy use by at least 25% when compared to the
requirements of the MNECB. The duration
of the program will be from April 1, 1998 to March
31, 2007.
